generally great, known for occasional icy experience and "cascade concrete" (very heavy powder)
  • stevens pass - great general purpose, nice variety
  • 🏔️ crystal mountain - website weather map - also generally good, wonderful cliff/rock/chute terrain
  • 🏔️ mt baker - website weather map - nice double blacks, known for unbelievable snowfalls (12 ft overnight)
  • 🏔️ alpental - website weather - a few very steep double blacks, great when powdery, but can get icy

tips

  • unfortunately washington ski areas have not quite kept up with popluation growth and are very busy on the weekends (especially now with reservations required due to covid)
  • for guaranteed parking, arrive early (8 used to work well, you may need earlier on weekends), and then the parking lot empties out again later in the day
